This is page 1 of Laseraw - Crystal Canals, a 5 page story I’ve done that will appear as a backup on an upcoming issue of Prophet, which is Brandon Graham’s fascinating sci-fi book from Image Comics.

pin up for a mark andrew smith project called KAIJU.

this one was also done in straight in the computer. which really helped to manage the detailing and coloring from early on. i usually over work drawings and then have to over work them again when i color.

came up different with grain effects to give it scale and distance, inspired by all the talking about particle generation on the making off’s on dvd extras.
it worked alright!

this one is also 100% digital, no trees sacrificed in the process.

worked a bit on the different skin textures for these guys after watching rick baker’s work on men in black 3. i think i did learn something useful.
the little title card below is in that awesome flat color moebius style, which i bet he got from peter max.
